ECA - Enhanced Capital Allowances Scheme

Some Public Sector organisations who are already paying Corporation Tax or Income Tax on their profits may be eligible for tax allowances under the ECA Scheme. Please contact your tax advisor to find out more.

The Scheme is a key part of the Government's programme to manage climate change. It provides organisations with enhanced tax relief for investments and equipment that meets published energy-saving criteria. Our LED products are eligible under the scheme's criteria for White LED Lighting.

To check your eligibility or find out more about either initiative, call us on 0845 2183 786.

Meet your CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme obligations

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (formerly known as the Carbon Reduction Commitment) is the UK's mandatory climate change and energy saving scheme.

The scheme started in April 2010 and is administered by the Environment Agency. The aim is to improve energy efficiency and cutting emissions in large public and private sector organisations. These organisations are responsible for around 10% of the UK's emissions.

The scheme provides a financial incentive to reduce energy use by putting a price on carbon emissions from such use and also provides the opportunity for participants to make savings on energy bills through improved energy efficiency. In CRC, organisations buy allowances equal to their annual emissions. Individual organisations can determine the most cost-effective way to reduce their emissions, either through buying extra allowances, or investing in ways to reduce their emissions and decrease the number of allowances they need to buy.

The scheme will publish annual performance league tables, ranking organisations on their energy efficiency performance. Qualifying organisations will have to comply legally with the scheme or face financial and other penalties.
